You want to record your Second Life?
OBS Studio is your answer!
OBS stands for Open Broadcaster Software, it is a free and open source software for video recording and live streaming.
Download and start streaming quickly and easily on Windows, Mac or Linux.
To install OBS in Windows you need to have Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 installed on your system, if not you will get errors and not been able to run the program.
Here is the link to the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013
These are the files that you need to install, and for some strange reason the tutorials advise to install both 32 and 64 bit versions:
Install the OBS files
This is quite straigth forward, just follow the prompts. Do not install ‘Realsense’, it is not needed.
Linking OBS to your favourite Second Life Viewer
All you need to do now is to do what you always do in your Second Life viewer and leave the recording window in the background while it is recording.
When you stop recording the video will save itself automatically to your default ‘video’ folder and from there you can edit the video footage or just publish it on YouTube or Vimeo for all your fans to watch!
